QUOTATIONS

Quotations cannot be issued if the full specifications/job requirements are not made clear, or there is a lack of information. These requirements must be given in writing and in a timely fashion.


Quotations are based upon information provided, or ascertained by site inspection and are only valid for 30 days.
We reserve the right to review & reissue quotations at any time should specifications change.


Visuals will be generated for your approval within 5 working days of placing your order unless otherwise specified (PLEASE SEE PLACING YOUR ORDER & PAYMENTS SECTION).
Within visuals/drafts/proofs, you must ensure that everything is correct including punctuation, spelling and colours.
Design Lab cannot be held responsible once you have given your approval.


Design/Artwork time will be added to your invoice where applicable.

PLACING YOUR ORDER & PAYMENTS

To place your order 50% payment is required. This is to show commitment and cover the necessary costs associated with preparations, this sum is non-refundable. The remainder of the payment is due on the day of completion otherwise penalties apply.


Verbal orders may be accepted at our discretion where we have previously completed work for a customer. This work is carried out in good faith and is based on trust.
Any outstanding balances will need to be paid on completion of work stages, for example Artwork Creation, Ordering of Material or goods required, Fitment/Completion.


Some orders may require full payment upfront. This is when high volumes of materials are required, when orders are below £150 and also when tight timescales are requested.

TIMESCALES & DEADLINES

Our general timescales to commence physical work, for example on vehicles or onsite, are 10 working days from placing an order, depending on the type of job and our current workload.
We will always try to accommodate our customers' own timescales with urgent/rushed jobs where possible, however there are no guarantees and Design Lab cannot be held responsible for upholding these requests if customers' actions are not conducted in a timely manner or where a 3rd party is at fault.

LATE PAYMENTS & NON PAYMENTS

Late payment interest will apply 5 days (30 days for account customers) after the invoice was originally sent out and this will be based on the Statutory interest rate of 8% plus the current Bank of England Base Rate, charged daily until the invoice is settled.


Where refusal to pay takes place we must point out the following:


Installed Signs and Materials used remain the property of Design Lab until the remaining balance is paid. This also applies to out-of-original-scope and additional works carried out, not excluding other services or business paraphernalia carried out during the same monthly period.


We reserve the right to either remove goods that we provided or pursue legal action.

ARTWORK & THE SUPPLY OF ARTWORK

Artwork production is not a free service. All our equipment, software and staff members come at a cost which must be paid for.

To reduce artworking costs, it is essential that customers plan out their required projects prior to commencement.
This includes the supply of any existing graphic elements, images and information.
It is recommended that copy information is supplied as digital files to reduce the time involved in typing and formatting.


When supplying artwork, this must be provided to us in a print-ready vector file or high-resolution format, otherwise this will incur an additional artwork fee.
Artwork is based at £40 per hour unless stated otherwise.


Customer-supplied hard copies can be helpful when determining the standard of finish required and colours required where applicable, however these are not deemed acceptable to use as the basis of print production and in some cases could result in copyright infringement.


Use of artwork provided by Design Lab without payment or written authorisation is considered an infringement of copyright and will be dealt with robustly and may result in legal action if an agreement cannot be reached.

VEHICLES & SHOP FRONTS

Vehicles and shop fronts must be cleaned before we are due to carry out fitting.
If they are not, then you may incur an additional fee to your final payment. This will be based on our hourly rate and any additional materials or chemicals required.


We use off-the-shelf colours provided by our manufacturers unless otherwise specified.
You must provide us with images or your Brand Package/Colour-Codes/Pantone or RAL colours to ensure a perfect match.


Installed Signs and Materials used remain the property of Design Lab until the remaining balance is paid. This also applies to out-of-original-scope and additional works carried out, not excluding other business paraphernalia carried out during the same monthly period.


We will repair or replace any vinyls that have lifted or faded within a 3-month period, provided there are no signs of misuse or damage caused.

All materials have a manufacturer's life expectancy which is a suggested guide based on the best possible conditions. Extreme temperatures, sunlight and harsh chemicals have a detrimental effect on all vinyl products, therefore exposure to these conditions may reduce the life.
